The Tom Patrick Institute of Computer & Information Technology has been setup by Maulana Azad Educational Trust with a view to cater to the changing educational needs of the students of this region. Mr. Tom Patrick is the senior Executive Vice President or Merril Lynch & it is hoped that his association with the college will usher in the much needed Indo-American collaboration in this field. The last decade has witnessed a tremendous change in Socio-Economic setup resulting in the emergence of new horizons of computerization and information technology 

The change consequently effected the educational system too. The demand for computer personnel in this region necessitated the setting up of the Tom Patrick Institute of Computer & Information Technology. The Institute offers the Master of Computer Application  (M.C.A.) & Master in Computer Management (M.C.M.) courses. M.C.A. is a three year Master Degree Programme  having accreditation of All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE,New Delhi)  and affiliation of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. M.C.M is a two year Master Degree Programme recognized by Directorate of Technical education, Govt. of Maharashtra and affiliated to Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. a three year master degree course, and having a two years course for M.C.M respectively. Having accreditation of AICTE , New Delhi and affiliation of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. The institute is housed in the cope specially constructed computer center at the Maulana Azad Educational Campus, Rauza Baugh , Aurangabad.

The computer center of the institute is well equipped with and has the facility of 1:1 computer and student ratio at the time of practical. The Institute has also purchased high end. Sophisticated and technologically most advanced machines of IBM compatibility. Maulana Azad Educational Campus, which houses several colleges and institutes, as provided in the computer center the best infrastructure facilities like the latest computers, well stocked library of books and periodicals and journals on the related subjects, sports recreation, hostel facilities etc. These features helps the overall personality development of the student. The computer field being most rapidly changing, the institute has also made arrangements to meet the changes and to provide conducive environment for learning. The institute organizes regularly  Guest Lecturer, Seminars and Group Discussions to benefit the students.

M.C.A.

A candidate seeking admission to the Master Of Computer Application (M.C.A.) should have passed bachelors degree examination with 50% marks of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University or any other degree equivalent thereto with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or graduation.

M.C.M.

A candidate seeking admission to (M.C.M) should have passed a bachelors degree examination of any faculty with 45% of marks of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University or any other degree equivalent there to.

There are 40 seats for M.C.A. & 60 Seats for M.C.M. Reservation of seats as per Government Rules & University regulations

The course of study for M.C.A. is of three years duration divided into six semesters. There are in all 24 papers and each semester will have four papers.

The course of study for M.C.M. is of two years duration divided into four semesters. There are in all 22 papers. The first and third semesters have 5 papers and in second and fourth semesters there are 6 papers.

The student seeking admission to M.C.A. or M.C.M. should apply in the prescribed form by paying Rs. 150 and should submit attested copies of marks memos and passing certificates of the qualifying examinations along with the application form and a registration fees of Rs. 200. The student will be admitted on the basis of common entrance test (C.E.T.) conducted under the supervision of the university. The C.E.T. is generally held in the month of July. The fee for C.E.T. is Rs. 200 which will cover written test, viva voce and group discussion. The student will be selected on the basis of overall performance at C.E.T. The list of selected candidates is displayed on the notice board of the Institute within two days of the C.E.T. . After selection the students are required to pay the fees before given date and submit the original documents like (T.C) Transfer Certificate, Migration certificate, Eligibility Form, Caste Certificate etc., to confirm the admission. Failing this, the allotment of the seat to him or her will stand cancelled and the seat will be allotted to among those on the waiting list of candidates.

Special Features

There are two laboratories well furnished and equipped with high end sophisticated computers of latest Pentium based technology conforming to IBM standards. The Laboratories remain open from 9 am till 6.00 PM daily. Students are given practical training on daily basis. In addition to this every student can have  extra timings if needed. There is a facility of one- to- one machine for students . Labs are provided with internet connectivity.

The institute provides for the library and reading room facilities to the students. Students of the institute are given a library card that enable them to borrow books for home studies. The library remains open from 9 am till  5.30 PM daily except on public holidays. Every student can take fixed number of books for a week only on the payment of the deposit as decided by the institute. However, books can be renewed,  if required and so advised by the tutor. The institutes subscribes latest journals and periodicals and technical bulletins. 

Hostel Facility

There are two hostels on the campus. The Hostels on the campus are well furnished and they shelter hundreds of students coming from far and wide, even from the foreign lands.. At hostel  vegetarian and non vegetarian mess facilities are available.

Rules Regarding attendance & Discipline

After getting admission a student has to strictly abide by the following. Every student must complete 75% attendance in all subjects, failing to so will be disqualify him to appear in exams. He must appear for college exams test tutorials etc. Irregularity and absentees will be penalized. The student must keep discipline in the classroom, library reading hall, laboratory and in the campus etc. he/she may be expelled if found guilty. The institutes furniture, books, laboratory equipment’s and peripherals must be handled carefully. They will be fined for mishandling and breakage , damages and compensate the value of the books. Smoking and tobacco chewing is strictly prohibited in the campus. Defaulters will be fined 100 Rs. Or more , depending on the gravity of the offence.
